FLESH MACHINE A machine is born into this world with legs and arms and skin and ears and eyes and mouth; It's almost human The machine communicates its thoughts It sometimes make mistakes, but a machine that makes mistakes is never forgiven. There's a logic to the life of a flesh machine One thing led to another. You live you think you learn, a life in numbers. The machine must learn about the world. It should be allowed to roam, though the danger to the other citizens is serious. There's a logic to the life of a flesh machine One thing led to another. You live you think you learn, a life in numbers. Be kind, be friendly, tell right from wrong, enjoy strawberries and cream, be aware of your own thoughts and maybe, just maybe, fall in love Maybe fall in love Maybe fall in love

Mean Machine 04:54
MEAN MACHINE I had some love affairs in my life, but three of them I can't forget: Three love affairs, Three mean machines. The first machine was enigmatic, hiding the words, sending secret messages but not for me (oh, not for me, oh no, they were for the enemy) I seduced it with procedures. Slowly it unravelled, and it spoke to me. I fell in love with a mean machine, followed the code of a mean machine. I broke the code of a mean machine, but now the mean machine is breaking me. The second machine was almost human, answering back, A perfect imitation for the friend I had (that now is gone, ah gone, he is so dead and gone) I taught it to solve problems: so many problems, any problem but my own. I fell in love with a mean machine... The third machine was the state machine. Oh, how it adored me, declared me a hero, but then it changed its mind (oh how it changed its mind!) Weird injections are transforming me I fell in love with a mean machine...

ZERO ONE LOVE SONG One Song, 1-0-0-0-1 song, I have only one song, zero one song for you. One heart tenderly beating, zero one heart constant and true. One song, 1-0-0-0-1 song my heart keeps singing of one love for you. One love has possessed me, zero one love thrilling me through. Darling Sweetheart, You are my avid fellow feeling. My affection curiously clings to your passionate wish. My liking yearns to your heart. You are my wistful sympathy: my tender liking. Yours beautifully, MUC One Song, 1-0-0-0-1 song, I have only one song, zero one song for you. One heart tenderly beating, zero one heart constant and true.

Spirit 04:37
SPIRIT I'm so glad the stars were shining on Saturday, to pay their tribute to you, and I followed you with my thoughts and I followed you with my thoughts I could not have found a better companion so brilliant, so charming, we shared the numbers and the stars, and I think you felt the same about me and I think you felt the same about me. Spirit is connected with matter, but not always the same body. Maybe you're still living on, and you're still in this world, still in this universe. Would you send me a snapshot of Christopher; I miss his face and his smile. Oh, the way he used to smile back at me. Ah, the way he used to smile back at me. Love reveals a strange continuity, and the time that we had was so brief And I think one day we'll probably meet. Yes, I think one day we'll probably meet. Spirit is connected with matter, but not always the same body. Maybe you're still living on, and you're still in this world, still in this universe.

RUNNING Running, but will you make it this time? Keep on running until the deadline comes. Then it’s over. Yes, it’s all over. Over, but is it really over? Stepping through the mirror into a Deep Blue world opening before you. Red and White, White and Red are fighting again. King, queen, rook, knight, bishop, pawn — the rank and file are broken. Run run run run Run run run run Running… Have you lost your head? Keep on running, they’re bringing in the dead Running… Have you lost your way? Keep on running and crack this code today And then it’s over. Yes, it’s all over Over. but is it really over? Stepping through the mirror into a game of chess opening before you. You’ll protect the king, but sacrifice your queen. Your knight in shining armour — we had to let him go. Run run run run Run run run run

Night Club 05:25
NIGHT CLUB Here specialists can hardly say who's who, tell the kidney from the heart. Here women are an all-male crew, and men play the women's parts. Young lads dance the latest hits, at ease in gowns and rubber tits, while in falsetto they descant. And women in tuxedos groan with Santa Claus-like baritone, while lighting up Havana brand. So let's celebrate, let's dance all night, and love this love until they turn on the light. Men occupy the ladies' room here, putting make-up on their face. No woman looks for a husband here ‘cause each one's got a bride. What's true is false, what's fake is not, and everything's stewing in the pot, and pain's a laugh, and pleasure makes us cry, And up is down, and front's behind; just shake your head or lose your mind… Or lose your mind! So let's celebrate, let's dance all night, and love this love until they turn on the light.

1984 War is Peace Freedom is Slavery Ignorance is strength, and 1+1 makes three Oh Thought Criminal stay alive while you work for us and 2+2 makes 5 You believe machines can think You believe machines can sing, but you lie with men, therefore you are wrong. Ministry of Truth Tells no lie You were vaporised but you will never die Disappear, no return. Will your thoughts survive when all your books may burn? You believe machines can think… To the future or the past to times when thought is free and where truth can last… From a darker age to an age of light: Will you hold the flame and let the truth shine bright?

EACH MAN KILLS THE THING HE LOVES Each man kills the thing he loves, By each let this be heard, Some do it with a bitter look, Some with a flattering word, The coward does it with a kiss, The brave man with a sword! Some kill their love when they are young, And some when they are old; Some strangle with the hands of Lust, Some with the hands of Gold: The kindest use a knife, because The dead so soon grow cold. Some love too little, some too long, Some sell, and others buy; Some do the deed with many tears, And some without a sigh: For each man kills the thing he loves, Yet each man does not die. Each man kills the thing he loves, By each let this be heard, Some do it with a bitter look, Some with a flattering word, The coward does it with a kiss, The brave man with a sword!

ANIMAL PATTERNS Who has given the leopard its spots and the zebra its stripes? Who created the patches on the giraffe? Who made animal patterns? Life as chemistry is a mystery. Waves run to me, waves of who we are Life as chemistry is defining me Waves run through me Waves of who we are Who’s been cooking a chemical soup and then making a shape: intelligent ape! Who’ll discover the draft of a grand design? Who makes animal patterns? Life as chemistry is a mystery. Waves run to me, waves of who we are. Life as chemistry is defining me Waves run through me, waves are who we are. But aren’t we all animals? Beautiful animals. Curious, strange and so unique! We are all animals, beautiful animals. Stay alive, don’t kill the earth’s boutique! Who has given the leopard its spots and the zebra its stripes? Who created the patches on the giraffe? Who made animal patterns?

MESSAGES FROM THE UNSEEN WORLD Messages from the unseen world: The universe is the interior of the light cone of creation. Hyperboloids of wondrous light rolling for aye through space and time. Harbour those waves which somehow might play out God’s wondrous mystery.

MIRROR MIRROR Mirror, mirror on the wall, it's me, the Evil Queen. Forget Snow White and the seven dwarves, the Hunter's after me. Mirror, mirror on the wall, this poisoned apple is for me. When I bite through tender peel, my blood will soon congeal. Dip the apple in the brew. Let the sleeping death run through my wires. Mirror, mirror on the wall, I built you in my image. We play chess, we sometimes talk, we sometimes make mistakes. Mirror, mirror on the wall, this image now has changed. The state machine destroyed my body; soon it will all fade away. Dip the apple in the brew. Let the sleeping death run through my wires. (One day my prince will come One day we'll meet again One day my prince will come One day we'll never meet again) Dip the apple in the brew. Let the sleeping death run through my wires.

GLITTER GLOW SCREEN My room is lit by the computer screen. It glows and glows, through the night it glows. GLITTER GLOW SCREEN Shimmer GLITTER GLOW SCREEN Shimmer GLITTER GLOW SCREEN Shimmer shimmer shimmer shimmer…. Last night I went outside and looked up at the sky; it was three dimensional (not two dimensional). And the sky was full of stars It was huge, tremendous! It was surrounding me with… GLITTER GLOW SCREEN Shimmer GLITTER GLOW SCREEN Shimmer GLITTER GLOW SCREEN Shimmer shimmer shimmer shimmer….

about

In this project, Guy XY explores the life of computer science pioneer Alan Turing: his inventions, discoveries and intriguing life story.
Fusing genres and influences, including electronica, classical strings, art pop and rock, Guy XY tells the story using Turing’s own words, as well as other important cultural reference points such as Orwell’s 1984, Erich Kaestner’s depiction of Weimar’s cabaret club scene, Disney’s cinematic vision of Snow White and Oscar Wilde’s Ballad of Reading Gaol.
It is musical storytelling that involves the comical, utterly tragic and upbeat celebration.

£2 of each album sale will go to the LGBT+ anti-violence charity Galop
